April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day Festival marks the launch of Turkish Grand National Assembly, and the day was dedicated to the children of the world by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Turkey. Organized by TRT since 1979 “TRT International April 23 Children’s Day Festival” is the first and only festival for children celebrated at an international level.
The child shall enjoy all the rights set forth in this Declaration. Every child, without any exception whatsoever, shall be entitled to these rights, without distinction or discrimination on account of race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status, whether of himself or of his family.
Located in northwest Turkey, the first capital of the Ottomans, Bursa, with its deep-rooted past, historic and cultural values, has embraced various civilizations. The city still bears spatial and architectural features of Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, Ottoman and Republic periods.
